Caddy Not Showing Any Indicator LEDUpdated 2 months ago
If your Cart Tek caddy won’t power on (no lights, no display, no response), this guide will help you diagnose it quickly.
Start here (60 seconds)
These are the most common causes:
1) Reseat the battery connection
Remove the battery from the caddy (or unplug it), then reconnect it firmly.
Make sure the connector is fully seated (a loose connection can cause “no lights”).
2) Check the connector + pins
Look for bent pins, dirt, or a connector that isn’t fully pushed in.
If it looks dirty, gently clean the connector area with electrical contact cleaner and try again.
3) Confirm you’re using the correct “power on” method
Different models “wake up” differently. Not sure which power-on steps apply?
Find your model’s manual here: https://carttek.gorgias.help/en-US/list-of-manuals-4010802
Open the “Getting Started / Powering On” section and follow those steps.
Choose your model
FORMULA Series (Formula Remote / Pursuit / M-DHC)
What “power” looks like: the screen/display should come on.
Try this:
Reseat the battery in the tray (remove → reinstall firmly until fully seated).
Press and hold the speed dial for 3 seconds. The screen should illuminate, along with the battery status indicator on the battery.
If the remote isn’t responding, make sure the remote is charged and not locked(red LED when pressing buttons on the remote).
If the screen stays completely dark:
Skip to “If you have a multimeter” below, or jump to “Still not working?” at the bottom.
GRi-1500Li / GRi-1500Li V2 / 1500-style models
What “power” looks like: a blue LED on the handle/control area.
Often the light will flash slowly in standby and turn solid when the caddy is ON.
Try this:
Reseat the battery connection.
Press and hold the power button for up to 3 seconds.
Pro tip: cover only half the button with your thumb so you can see the light change.
1500 V3
Same as above (reseat battery + hold power).
If it still doesn’t power on, go to the multimeter step below.
Yellowstone
What “power” looks like: a blue LED ready light when the battery is properly connected.
Try this:
Reseat the battery connection.
Confirm the battery is charged.
If there is still no blue light, continue to the multimeter step below.
GRi-975 / 975Li
What “power” looks like: the status LED should flash when the battery cable is inserted/connected.
Try this:
Reseat the battery connection.
Confirm the battery is charged.
If there’s still no status light, continue to the multimeter step below.
Galaxy Titan
What “power” looks like: if there’s no light, it usually means no power is reaching the unit (battery not connected / not seated / not charged).
Try this:
Reseat the battery connection.
Confirm the battery is charged.
Continue to the multimeter step if needed.
If you have a multimeter (recommended)
A voltage test quickly tells us if the issue is “battery not providing power” vs “caddy electronics.”
Battery voltage (quick guide)
Set your multimeter to DC Voltage.
Measure the battery output at the connector.
Typical readings (24V systems):
~29V = fully charged (normal)
~26V or lower = low battery (charge it fully and re-test)
Very low voltage (especially under ~5V) = the caddy may not light up at all
If you get normal voltage (~29V) and still have no lights/no screen, proceed to the section below.
