Remote not working (caddy is ON)Updated an hour ago

If your caddy is powered on but the remote won’t drive/steer the cart, follow these steps.

Start here Shows

1) Make sure the remote is actually ON

  • Press a button and confirm the remote LED shows activity (flashes/blinks).

  • If your remote has an ON/OFF method, turn it OFF, then ON again.

If the remote shows no LED activity at all, jump to Step 4 (Remote power).

2) Restart the caddy (quick reset)

  1. Turn the caddy OFF.

  2. Disconnect the battery for 5–10 seconds.

  3. Reconnect the battery firmly and power the caddy back on.

  4. Try the remote again.

3) Check for simple interference

  • Stand within 10–15 feet of the caddy.

  • Move away from large metal objects, carts, or chargers and try again.

  • Try again on flat ground.

Step 4 — Remote power (most common fix)

If your remote uses replaceable batteries

  • Replace the remote batteries with new, name-brand batteries.

If your remote is rechargeable

  • Charge the remote fully, then try again.

FORMULA Series note

If you have a FORMULA remote:

  • Make sure the remote is not locked, and confirm it has charge before pairing or troubleshooting further.

Step 5 — Pairing (if the remote is new or unpaired)

If you’re using a new remote, or the remote stopped controlling the cart after a reset, you may need to pair the remote to the caddy.

➡️ Follow this guide:

Tip: Pairing steps can differ by model, so make sure you’re following the correct pairing instructions for your caddy.

If the remote still won’t control the caddy

Please contact support so we can diagnose quickly:

Contact Support / Report an Issue:
https://carttek.gorgias.help/en-US/contact

Include:

  1. Your model (FORMULA / 1500 V3 / GRi-1500Li / Yellowstone / 975 / Titan)

  2. A photo of your remote (front + back)

  3. A photo of the caddy handle/control area (screen/dial/power)

  4. A short 10–20 sec video showing: caddy powered on + remote button press + wheels not moving

Optional quick check: does the caddy drive from the handle controls?

  • If the caddy drives from the handle but not the remote → likely a remote/pairing/receiver issue.

  • If the caddy won’t drive at all (even from the handle) → see No Power / Battery / Motor troubleshooting.
